AQ would benefit most from centered in base

Up until recently I had my burger king on defence, guarding against invaders, but to me it seemed that all he managed to do is get the enemy to kill him with archers and leave me with an hour coc gem   wait until he can become an adventurer again (having taken all the arrows out of his knees).

But then is that advantageous? Maybe it's good that he is lured as he made the archers available for my mortars to decimate thus leaving less for him to attack with?  coc gems I'm not sure which is better tbh I've got him sleeping atm so that I can plant him in my raids when all Clash of Clans Gem  the defences are shattered so he can speed up the 3-star.
